We are looking for a gentle, self-motivated educator to join our nature and play microschool team. Ideal candidates have a background in play-based education, a love for the outdoors, and a passion for nurturing the growth of young children through imaginative play. At A Place For Wonder, you’ll support emotional development while actively engaging in our commitment to equity, diversity, and anti-bias education.
Part time $16-20/hr based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety and nurture children
- Promote play-based, inclusive learning
- Communicate professionally
- Support daily tasks and outdoor play
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, squatting, standing, and walking
- Maintain mobility to ensure child safety
- Work outdoors in all weather - get messy
- Meet visual/ hearing safety standards
Experience:
- Familiarity with conscious discipline and gentle parenting
- Knowledge of play-based pedagogy, informal learning, or European-based forest schools
- Knowledge of Reggio-Emilia approach
